Established in 1998, Freight Surveillance International (Pty) Ltd (FSI) is a South African based organization, which was founded to render a specialized security service within the freight Industry. Growing from strength to strength FSI has gained trust and credibility from clients and the Insurance industry alike. Described as a Company that through hard work and dedication established themselves in the sea and airfreight industry by being innovative and reliable in the protection of high value cargo.

Having our own engineers and coders, FSI incorporates the latest technology (the best in the world) in the fight against crime. Cultivating true and honest relationships with our clients, and providing high-quality service, we endeavour to build long lasting associations in our industry.

AIR FREIGHT

FSI is in contract with an ACSA approved security company that is in possession of a licence to operate on all airports in RSA.

ROAD SURVEILLANCE

Local and cross border. Long distance armed surveillance (from all origins to all end destinations in the RSA).

SEA FREIGHT

Monitoring security clamp / satellite attachment via road to / from ports. LCL containers and customs Inspections.

LIVE SATELLITE TRACKING

Management reports will include movement status, alarm status and speed monitoring.

AIR FREIGHT:

Security Risk on Airfreight (Import/Export Cargo)

  • Cargo being off-loaded and transported from the aircraft into the respective Airline warehouses.
  • Cargo being transported between airport and freight agents warehouses.
  • Cargo on route from freight agent’s warehouses to client’s warehouses.

The service provided by FSI covers all three areas

  • Surveillance from moment of off-loading.
  • Inspection for damages, theft and/or irregularities.
  • Checking of cargo into warehouses.
  • Armed surveillance when transporting between warehouses.

SEA FREIGHT

  • Inspecting containers for damages and discrepancies.
  • Securing containers with a specialized locking device.
  • Armed surveillance from various points up to final destination.
  • Armed surveillance from various points up to final destination.
  • Surveillance and assistance during customs inspections and degroupage containers(less than full container-LCL).

SATELLITE TRACKING

The FSI satellite unit’s advanced system utilizes the latest GPS, GPRS and GSM technology. This technology has the ability to locate a vehicle or container anywhere within the GPS, GPRS or GSM coverage. Communication is achieved through a cost effective GPRS and GSM Technology while GPS is used for exact positioning.

Should a unit be jammed we have an additional RF device for recovery purpose. Our units are also loaded with
the latest jamming detection software.

The units used are of the latest technology in the world with incredible signal strength and stability.
This is especially convenient when following a vehicle / container in a theft or hijack situation. GSM channel through any cellular network ( Vodacom or MTN within the borders of South Africa) and GPRS, which is a new communications on the GSM networks. Our units are updating every 10 to 30 seconds, depending on the network.

Through this advanced technology, vehicle and container monitoring, through a centralized response centre,
can be achieved 24 hours per day, 7days a week. FSI in conjunction with our service provider puts you in total
control with a cargo management system that is also one of the most advanced tracking and recovery systems
in The World !

The vehicle carrying your cargo can be pinpointed, using street level maps, within meters.
The control room will immediately detect a deviation from a planned route and can also be
alerted if the vehicle carrying your cargo is entering a restricted zone if the transporter agrees
to a specific route.

Management reports will include movement status, alarm status and speed monitoring.

With all the aforementioned information at your fingertips, including estimated time of your container deliveries.
